June 4: It was going to be a scorcher as the heat was coming on by 8:00. I had heard later on that it had reached 100 degrees this afternoon. I explored the parks caves this afternoon, where they must have been 40 degrees cooler. What a peaceful day--I feel so wonderfully calm.
