June 26: After spending the night in Gunnison it was now time to take the road least traveled and head north toward Crested Butte and then turn east and north to tackle Cottonwood Pass (12,126') on the Continental Divide. The scenes were a shear delight, but the weather was deteriorating quickly as I gained elevation, and the last 14 miles of the climb would be on a dirt road.
