June 13: Here comes Marlise and John with big smiles on their faces. Everyone's spirits were amazingly transformed. Eventually reaching tiny Escalante, we stopped at the local grocery to replenish our stock of food and continued on a few more miles to a nice spot off the side of the road and up a dirt road on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land, where we could camp for the night. It had a birds-eye view of the valley below and the awesome cliffs in the background. I think everyone enjoyed a good night's sleep.
