June 13; Today will be one of the most difficult, yet rewarding days of the trip thus far, with more of same difficulty the next day. Today has lots of climbing with long steep stretches at 14% grade up long winding sections they call the "Blues" and the "Hogback". My load is very heavy right now since I just loaded up with a full supply of food and fuel for the stove, not to mention plenty of water. With the temps in the 100s I'd love to mail all the cold weather gear back. I may actually do that...
