August 23: I paused deliberately on the Virginia side of the bridge in order to cherish the moment and to offer thanks to God for sustaining me on this journey. I could feel the emotions welling up inside as I began to cross the bridge, bringing to a close my three-month journey through the heart of America. I could see the Lincoln Memorial just ahead.
