June 7: I've been to Zion National Park before, and that's exactly why I had anticipated spending time hiking in this very special place again. The opportunities to observe nature are boundless—and the hiking is phenominal!
The weather has been an interesting roller-coaster, up and down ride since leaving California. In the Central Valley it was 98 degrees. The Sierra contributed rain, freezing rain and 30 degrees. Chilly, but beautiful would have to describe most ov Nevada, until the wind and the heat presented in the eastern sections, and on into Utah. Then the temperatures soared to 105-106, making it difficult to stay hydrated. Now in Zion National Park it rained in the morning only to clear by mid-afternoon, with very moderate temps.
