23 April: I had purchased a gallon of water at an unexpected store located in the dunes ($4.25 for one gallon), so I still had water, but the heat and wind had taken their toll, nonetheless. Suddenly, like someone had flipped a switch, the 20 mph wind was at my back! Psychologically revived, I offered up a prayer of thanks, and continued on up Highway 78 at a pretty good rate of speed.
