June 13: Still struggling some 10-15 miles later, I came upon a couple of cyclists with loaded bikes collapsed along the side of the road eating, in an attempt to regain some strength and energy. After exchanging introductions and learning that it seemed that neither of us was having a very strong day, we continued cycling on together. Arnault and Marlise, husband and wife, age 39, were from Holland and had begun their cycling trip two-years earlier at the southern tip of South America, at Terra del Fuego in Argentina. They shared that the winds of Patagonia had almost caused them to abandon their plans, but that it toughened them up for the rest of the journey. The 20-30 mph winds of Utah were nothing in comparison.
