June 14: The climb up imposing Boulder Mountain was filled with hundred-mile views and rich alpine forests. On the way down the northern side at 8650 feet, we made a rest stop at the Wildcat Rangers Station, now Information Center. We were invited in to spend some time resting and chatting on the cozy couch, while we sipped hot herbal tea. It was difficult to leave, but we still needed to further descend Boulder Mountain. Here are our generous hosts at the Wildcat Ranger Station. The night would be spent at Torrey, at the foot of this great mountain.
